GREENVILLE REGIONAL HOSPITAL ADVANCES EFFORTS TO SAVE FAIR OAKS NURSING HOME
On Monday, May 20th, the Greenville Regional Hospital Board of Directors approved moving forward with the Alden Network to lease, remodel and continue service at the Fair Oaks nursing facility. The Alden Network owns and operates several senior- living facilities in the Chicago area and is collaborating with the hospital to bring their unique approach to southern Illinois.
“Having the Alden Network express a sincere interest in Fair Oaks is great for our community. We’ve never relented in seeking a senior-care solution for Greenville and we’re excited about the possibilities that Alden provides,” said Jeff Mollet, chairman of the board. “We still have some contractual steps to go through before anything is finalized, but we’re encouraged and hopeful that this will become a reality for the community.”
“What excites us most is our seniors will receive unmatched quality of care,” said Brian Nall, Greenville Regional Hospital CEO and president. “After meeting with Alden and touring their facilities, it’s obvious that they provide an exceptional standard of living for their residents. The seniors in Greenville and the surrounding area deserve that level of care.”
Based on the current proposal, Alden will invest $3 million to remodel and refurbish the facility. This includes not only addressing issues such as mechanical repairs, flooring, light fixtures, new beds and furniture, but also upgrades to the resident experience, including a new hair salon, ice cream parlor, therapy room, meeting room, flat screen televisions, remodeled wardrobes and remodeled dining rooms. A staff architect for the Alden Network has already been on site to begin planning for the renovation.
“This process will likely take a few weeks to finalize. Until then, we will continue to provide Fair Oaks residents with the best care possible,” said Nall.
